Welcome to the Speaking of Phenomenal Podcast - Episode number 3
On today’s Episode meet Bhavana-
Bhavana Jain is a Chicago based women’s wear designer and has been CEO and lead designer of BHAV since March 2018. Bhavana who comes from an Indian background and born/raised in Chicago, had a vision with BHAV to use South Asian textiles in a way that felt contemporary and elegant. South Asia has such a rich diversity of heritage fabrics (outside of just what we see in Indian formalwear), featuring techniques such as hand-dying/weaving and block/screen printing. Our goal with BHAV is to use these textiles to create versatile and flattering ready-to-wear pieces tailored to fit the daily lives of real, modern women... and re-imagine what fusionwear can be.
Along with managing her brand, Bhavana is a part-time Clinical Pharmacist at a hospital outside of the city. In her free time she enjoys exploring the city of Chicago, trying new pizza places, and spending time with family and friends.
